Continent Belgium

Why Travel Belgium?

Belgium is a country in Western Europe which is known for its medieval old towns, Flemish Renaissance architecture and international headquarters of the European Union and NATO.

But apart from this factual information, here are some facts unknown about this country like the Brussels International Airport which is the world’s biggest chocolate selling point; it has the highest density of roads and railroads in the world; it is home to Europe’s oldest shopping arcades—the Galleries St Hubert (opened in 1847) and it also has the largest court of justice in the world—the Law Courts of Brussels.

Moving on, from its fabled cobbled streets to the canals lined with ornate, historic buildings, the city of Bruges really could be the backdrop to a fairytale. When in Belgium, do take a canal tour and don’t forget to visit the Church of Our Lady. You will also find unique mix of stunning, historic buildings – mostly dating from the 17th century.

This artistic city isn’t just an architectural gem, but also home to some of the best designer shopping in Europe, thanks to the fashion influence of its Academy of Fine Arts, and is also one of the world’s most profitable diamond centres. Belgium is also the absolute number one when it comes to craft beers and every region you visit will have some great local beers you should definitely try out!

The many canals in Bruges make for people often referring to it as the Venice of the North, but in my opinion it would better to call Venice the Bruges of the south!
