Why Travel Naldhera?

Situated at a distance of 22 Km from Shimla, Naldehra is a beautiful paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers. It forms a golf course perched at an altitude of 2,200 meters. It is an 18-hole course with 16 greens and 18 tees, constitutes a design resonant of Scottish links courses. The golf course was built under the supervision of Lord Curzon. Naldehra has got the name from the Nag Temple that lies bang in the middle of the course. This place is one of the oldest 9 holes golf courses in the country.

However, if you do not want to visit the place for Golf, then you can easily take a walk or hire a pony around te course. It is a lush green expanse and if you have kids going along wit you, they are going to love it.

The Nag temple is also situated here and Naldehra derives its name from it. There are interesting picnic spots nearby.

There are large deodars that flank the links and make this region an enthralling sports venue in the midst of natural scenic beauty. Not only this, one may also take a leisurely walk through the woods and picnics in this region. However, Naldehra is a perfect place to unwind and relax amid serene ambience.
Sightseeing here is all about visiting temple or wondering at the lovely towering pine trees or relishing the day on the rolling greens. Worshippers may visit to the Mahunag Temple, which is dedicated to the snake god.

Best time to visit is during summers.


There are few popular eateries in Naldehra where one can enjoy scrumptious meal amidst the scenic beauty of this region. A multi-cuisine restaurant at Chalets Naldehra serves a huge variety of delicacies and the dining area is also arranged in the garden, so that visitors can enjoy the beauty of Himalayas while enjoying the lavish food. Other multi-cuisine restaurants include Hotel Hill View, Koti Resort, which serve Continental, Chinese, and Mexican cuisines too.


In Naldehra, you can buy hand woven shawls, caps, pickles and other food items at reasonable cost. It's a small hilltop and so you can only get a variety of food items and hand made products
The Joton Ka Mela and The Sipi Fair are two main festivals and events of Nalehra that are celebrated with joy. The Sipi Fair is dedicated to Sip Devta and held in the month of May while several cultures assemble and exchange gossip. It's a special occasion for couples to get married too. The other one- Joton ka Mela is a bull fighting fair that is conducted every year in the month of October to entertain the crowd. In this fair, the prized bulls are being sold to discreet buyers.

Mahuag Temple
The Mahuag Temple was constructed in the year 1664.It is believed that whenever the devotees are in danger and need the blessings of Lord Karna, he becomes a bee and rushes to assist his devotees. His blessings help to solve the family and legal issues of devotees. Offering at this shrine are made in silver for the lord. A large number of devotees and worshippers visit the temple every Sunday to worship the presiding deity. A huge fair is held every year on Makar Sankranti day. The temple remains open from early morning till evening and the best time to visit this temple is from February to November.

Nag Panchmi is a famous Hindu festival related to the serpent God; the festival is held on the fifth day of Shravana according to Hindu calendar. On this auspicious day, devotees throng this place to offer milk to Lord Anant Shesha.


Chabba
Situated at a distance of 18 km from Naldehra in the district of Shimla, Chabba is the point from where the 11 km river rafting stretch starts with the old Hydroelectric Power House on Sutlej River and finishes with the sulphur springs at Tattapani Village. Travel to Naldehra and enjoy leisurely walks on the lush green hayfields of Chabba.Chabba offers a picturesque view of the natural beauty. Nature lovers will be charmed by the spellbinding views of thick forests and grasslands.

Chabba is famous for White River Rafting and so if you are an adventure seeker, then you may plan your trip in the month of May-June or September-October and get a thrilling experience of river rafting.


Tattapani
Located at a distance of 30 km from Naldehra and 50 km away from Shimla. It lies at an altitude of 655 metres above sea level. Tattapani means hot water and is made up of several hot sulphur springs with many tourists flocking here to take a dip in this water. It is believed that this water can cure many ailments like fatigues, joint pain and certain skin diseases. The springs are located on the banks of the Sutlej River and cover an area of 1 sq km. This natural spring is very pure and the temperature keeps changing on the basis of water level of the river.

The hot water spring is 4 km away from the Hindu Temples and the Shiv Goofa (Shiva Caves), which are located at Saraur. A number of worshippers and devotees throng this place in the month of January to take a dip in the sacred water of Tattapani. Tara Ratri and Lohfi are a few popular festivals of Tattapani which captivate tourists who arrive here from all over the world.

River Rafting-Tattapani is a place where adventure seekers can enjoy white river rafting from April to June. A course on river rafting is also offered here by HPTDC and private operators.

Mountain biking or cycling is a unique and refreshing experience along the banks of the river Sutlej. Tourists may go up to the Chindi village, which is just 30 km away from Tattapani.
