By Rail : The nearest railway station to reach Lansdowne is Kotdwar. To move in and around the hill-town, there are local transportation modes available.

By Air : Jolly Grant (Dehradun) is the nearest airport to reach Lansdowne. There are private cabs and taxis available for hire.

By Road : To reach Lansdowne from Delhi, there is a road connectivity available. The 236 km route goes via Meerut, Mawana, Bijnor, Najibabad, and Dugadda.


The most delicious and convenient option for food here would be the hotels, lodges and resorts, since there aren't too many restaurants here. Day 2: Trek to Tiffin Top, to enjoy the beautiful and panoramic view of the Shivalik ranges. Visit the Bhulla Lake and enjoy the serene ambience. Later, visit the Tarkeshwar Mahadev temple, located at an elevation of 2092 meters.

Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple
Located atop a hill at 2092 meters, Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple is believed to be one of the ancient holy sites or SiddhaPitas dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Mahashivarathri festival draws a huge crowd from across the country.

Bhulla Lake,
One of the most favorite picnic spots among locals and tourists, Bhulla lake is a well maintained serene lake made and maintained by Indian Army. Bhulla lake is loved for it's tranquil atmosphere as it is not much populated and there are ample boating facilities available here.

An amusement park is located nearby which is quite popular among kids.

St. John's Church :
Very Close to Tip N Top, this is the only working church in Lansdown. After 1947 it was abandoned for years and in 1951 handed over to the Government. In 1983 it was re-built and daily prayers are offered.

Tip N Top,
Tip N Top, also known as tiffin top, is a small hilltop viewpoint located 1.5 km from the main city of Garhwal. This is the best place to watch complete skyline, Shivalik range, panoramic Garhwal hills with majestic Himalayan range.

Tourist come here to feel the peace and calmness that the place offers.

Jungle Safari
If you would like to explore the wilderness of Lansdowne, many tour operators organize jungle safaris into the heart of the forests where you can catch a glimpse of Himalayan wild animals in their natural habitat.

Bhim Pakora,
Bhim Pakora can be reached after a 2km trek downhill on a rough path and the place is quite surprising as there are two big stones one above the other in perfect balance and while the stone can be moved with a finger it never falls down.
